Sometimes life doesn’t go quite the way we planned. Bonzai was adopted from Helping Hounds as a puppy, and now, at about 1½ years old, he has found himself back with us and looking for a family to call his own again.
Bonzai is a handsome Shepherd mix with a big personality and an even bigger heart. He can be a little shy when you first meet him and may need a few minutes to warm up, but once he feels comfortable, he loves attention and is ready to show you his playful, sweet side. This boy LOVES his walks and car rides and would be thrilled to have a family who wants to include him in their adventures. He knows sit, stay, paw, and lay down, and he is a smart young dog who has plenty of potential to continue learning.
Bonzai is also a very strong young guy, so his leash manners are something his new family will need to continue working on. He’ll need someone who is patient, consistent, and willing to help him learn how to be the best version of himself. In return, you’ll have a fun-loving companion who wants nothing more than to be part of your life. He does not do well with small dogs, and has never met cats before. Bonzai has lived with older children and would love a home where he can get plenty of exercise, playtime, attention, and—most importantly—a commitment to being his forever family.
